Free Shuttle Service
The Midtown Connection, a free shuttle service!
The Midtown Connection is a free shuttle service developed by Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University and Henry Ford Health system to help students, staff, patients, and families travel more easily across Midtown locations. The three entities comprise a large portion of the people who are in and around Midtown:
The shuttle will run north and south between the Lodge Freeway and Interstate 75, with multiple stops along a route stretching from Mack Avenue to Virginia Park Street. The shuttle service begins January 3, 2011.
Hours of operation will be: Monday – Friday 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.; no holidays or weekends.
Each system shuttle service location will move along the designated route, with three “Transfer Points” or locations where passengers can interconnect between shuttles.
The new connection points are:
• 261 Mack Ave.: between Eugene Applebaum & DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan
• 540 East Canfield: north of Scott Hall
• 1 Ford Place: between 2nd & 3rd Street
Some of these transfer points may require a very short walk to board the adjacent route shuttle.
The Midtown Connection shuttles will be clearly identified with signage, to help passengers select a bus. A map of the Midtown Connection Route will be located at the various stops. The Route Map is also on the website for Detroit Medical Center, Henry Ford Hospital and Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Donate A Coat, Empower Our Men
Dear Friends of Mariners Inn,
Winter is upon us and some of our men are in need of coats. When they are not in counseling and group activities at Mariners Inn, they are outdoors traveling to job interviews, doctor visits, and other activities. It is very important for them to be protected from the elements.
We are seeking new and gently used winter coats, especially sizes XL and larger. If you have a coat to donate, please contact Doreen Mannino at 313.962.9446 x230 or dwebb@marinersinn.org.
We are also looking for a display case to spotlight client art work. Can you help?
Please check out the photos from Adopt a Family on Facebook: Mariners Inn. Our men provided Christmas to four local families in need!

Youth Expo!
There will be a large scale national fencing tournament & youth expo at Cobo Hall on March 11th & 12th. This event will not only engage youth in the areas of health, nutrition, & financial literacy. But also expose them to other culturally enriching programs available in the Detroit area.
We are also offering FREE fencing lessons to youth all weekend!
