The FOUNDATION OF FUNK FESTIVAL
will be the Festival of the year.
Foundation of Funk featuring Valerie Barrymore Somers presents the Funk Festival of the year. FOF is all about the Funk and the Fun.
Taking over The Magic Stick for the first time in Detroit History, will be the powerful, high energy FOUNDATION OF FUNK & and the 2011 Detroit Black Music Award Funk Artist Co-Winner of the Year VALERIE BARRYMORE SOMERS recently featured in the Detroit In Overdrive Documentary on the creative force moving in and around Detroit, wsg FAME and O.T.I.S ; these artists bring the FUNK!
All-ages are invited to bring the Fun. You are invited to pull out your Afro wigs, your Belle
bottoms and your Plat form-shoes and come out and have a FUNKY GOOD TIME.

The Art Institutes College Fair

Please  join us in spreading the word about The Art Institutes presentation this Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 5:00pm – 6:00pm  at YouthVille Detroit. There are several college campuses throughout the States that offer degree programs in Audio/Film Production, Photography, Fashion Design, and Culinary Arts, and we wanted to present this opportunity for all students in Detroit.  The presenter will provide  helpful information about summer learning programs, financial aid, and admissions.  Below is a flyer with more detailed information.  Please feel free to Rita Clark at 313-309-1305 or rclark@youthvilledetroit.org if you have any questions.

Moore Food Garden

The Moore Food Garden, located in the North End across the street from 306 King is asking for volunteers to come out Oct 5th2011 at 11am we will be helping to build a shed.

Mr.  Eugene Moore, President of the Holbrook King Block Club and Ms. Sanaa Niajoy of EMEAC are managing the project. Please come out and join us if you are interested in this opportunity and you have some spare time, let’s work together to make our community better.
