2012 System of Care Conference Art Contest for Youth
CALL FOR ENTRIES
Contest Deadline: Monday, June 4th, 2012
The Statewide System of Care Conference Planning Committee is sponsoring a conference art contest, and you are invited to enter! If you are a youth who receives services for mental health challenges, then you understand the importance of Systems of Care (SOC) Values and Principles and we invite you to create and share your original artwork that represents those Values and Principles.
Of the many wonderful submissions the Conference Planning Committee receives, one piece of artwork is chosen as the “conference art” for the Statewide System of Care Conference. The selected artwork is showcased on the cover of the conference agenda booklet, and may also be shown on other promotional materials or online.
This year’s 2-day, Statewide System of Care Conference titled, Michigan: Building and Supporting Systems that Care, will be held October 24-25, 2012 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in Lansing.
Prize:
The designer of the conference artwork chosen to be featured will receive: a $50.00 gift certificate, free registration to conference activities, name recognition within the conference brochure, and recognition by the Conference Planning Committee at the conference. All other entries will be showcased at the conference.
Eligibility:
This contest is open to all youth ages 21 or under concerned about the quality of services to children and youth with mental health challenges and their families. Youth may enter as many pieces of artwork as they’d like.
How to Enter:
Please complete the attached entry form. Submit the form along with your original artwork to Advocacy Services for Kids by Monday, June 4th.
Rules for Entry:
· Artwork must be submitted on standard white paper. Artwork not submitted on standard white, 8 ½” by 11” paper cannot be accepted.
· Artwork must incorporate at least one of the System of Care Principles or Values. See attached system of care information sheet for more information.
· Artwork must be able to be copied/printed in both color and black and white.
· All entries must be received by Monday, June 4th. Late entries cannot be accepted.

Selection Notification:
The Conference Planning Committee will select the artwork to be used on conference materials, and the artist will be notified by Monday, August 1, 2012.
