“Ability is Ageless” Award Luncheon

It’s that special time again!

Thursday, September 27th, 2012; Operation ABLE of Michigan will host our annual ”Ability is Ageless” Award Luncheon. This event’s purpose is to call attention to the valuable role of mature workers. Every year, approximately 100 mature workers are nominated by their employers and honored for their achievements and over 500 guest attend to celebrate the cause. Come and share in the Celebration of Ability!

Model D Speaker Series: Innovation in Education Public Event

As students and teachers get ready to go back to school, let’s gather to talk about education in Detroit. We know the challenges; do we know what’s working? What programs are leading to greater academic success for Detroit’s children?

Join us Wednesday, Aug. 29 at YouthVille, 7375 Woodward Ave. in Detroit’s New Center for a panel discussion moderated by Kary Moss, Executive Director of ACLU of Michigan. Panelists include:

- Sharnita Johnson, Kellogg Foundation

- Michael Brennan, United Way
- Armen Hratchian, Excellent Schools Detroit
- Amber Arellano, Education Trust-Midwest
- Michael Khoury, Cristo Rey High School
- Stephan Quicksey, senior at Osborn Academy of Mathematics
