Transportation Advisory Commission

The Mayor’s Office is currently seeking applicants for the Transportation Advisory Commission.  We would like to have this Commission seated by November 1, 2012, so your immediate attention is appreciated.

Qualifications:
No specific qualifications; however, we should be focused on individuals who are interested in assisting the department with improving services, restoring reliability, and increasing ridership.  Individuals should also be key stakeholders in the industry (riders, businesses, school administrators, etc).

Description of Agency:
The Department of Transportation Advisory Commission shall study, investigate, monitor, and make recommendations with respect to the maintenance and operation of the Department of Transportation and its subsidiaries.

Number of Members:

Note – Northend, Brush Park,  and the east part of Midtown are in District 3 and the west side of Midtown, Woodbridge, and Corktown are in District 5

Applications:
Applications can be picked up in Suite 1126 or will be mailed out at their request. Applicants will be given two (2) weeks to submit required information such as resume, references, Government issued identification and Voter registration card (Detroit residency is required).  Members of the Commission will be appointed by the Mayor.

Meeting Schedule:
Monthly (previously held the 3rd Wednesday at 10:00 a.m)
